The school year is off to a terrific start! Our biggest fundraiser, the Apex Leadership Fun Run, is going so well! Tracks 1 and 4 crushed it, and Tracks 2 and 3 are just getting started. We love having the Apex Leadership Athletes on campus. They bring so much wonderful energy to every day. They are truly inspirational to the students! We also had an amazing turn out of spectators on run day! The students really love seeing their families come out to support them, and we appreciate you being there, too. Run day for Tracks 2 and 3 will be Thursday, September 22nd.

 

The September PTA meeting had a great turn out. For those of you that could not make it, please check out the minutes and audio recording on the PTA website: salemelementaryPTA.com. There has been much interest in helping the PTA this year, and it is greatly appreciated. Please understand that some volunteer opportunities come up closer to events, and the best way to find out about them is through the Facebook page or Talking Points sent by teachers. Ongoing opportunities will be posted on our website. The next PTA meeting is October 4th, 2022, at 4:15PM.

 

Be on the lookout for our coat drive, running from September 15th to October 15th. As you change over your summer wear to fall/winter, please consider donating gently used coats for kids and adults to the school. The coats will be passed along to those in need. All donations can be dropped off in the marked box in the front lobby.

 

Salem PTA would also like to congratulate Mrs. Miller on making it to the 5 finalists of Assistant Principal of the Year 2022-2023! This is a huge honor! The winner will be announced on October 6th, but we all know that no matter who is declared winner, Mrs. Miller is the BEST Assistant Principal Salem could ever have! Congratulations, Mrs. Miller!
